Jelly Roll Quilt

I just have to show you the beautiful quilt that my Mum finished this weekend.

Jelly Roll Taupe Quilt

She made it for one of her sisters and I’m sure my Aunty will love it.  It didn’t take her too long to actually sew.  I think the hardest part was deciding what colours to put together first in the squares and then finding a suitable fabric for the outside border to pull the whole thing together.  The red outside edge was a last minute addition which finishes the whole thing off nicely.

The pattern came from this book: Jelly Roll Quilts: The Perfect Guide to Making the Most of the Latest Strip Rolls
by Pam and Nicky Lintott

  3. Thanks. I’m just putting your order together now. Usually takes 7-10 days to get to Australia. I’m sure you’ll love those books.

  5. Congratulations. It’s great fun knitting for babies, because you can complete a garment pretty quickly and feel satisfied with your achievements. If you’re new to knitting you might like to start with something like the baby blanket in Sublime book 600 and it’s pretty straightforward and it will give you some good basic practice.

We’re based in South Devon near the city of Plymouth. We’re just 10 minutes from the coast which is lovely. Ever been to the UK?

  7. Not married nor have kids as yet. Went backpacking around the world about 10 years ago and spent a couple of months in Australia. I loved it. Didn’t make it over to Tasmania though.
