Customer FO: Penelope Jumper
A customer brought in this jumper to show me, which she’d knitted for her granddaughter.
The pattern is called Penelope from the The Luxurious Sublime Tussah Silk DK Hand Knit Book 650, but she didn’t want to knit it with the Sublime Tussah Silk yarn. So she picked out some Sirdar Simply Recycled instead. They are both DK yarns and perfectly interchangeable.
The resulting jumper is gorgeous. The Simply Recycled yarn is a mix of recycled cotton t-shirts and acrylic and is really soft when knitted up.

Customer FO: Land Girls Cardigan
Here’s a picture of a customer and her new cardigan, which was knitted in Debbie Bliss Rialto DK and using the pattern Peplum Cardigan from the Land Girl book by Debbie Bliss. She’s really pleased with it and I’m not surprised. It looks great!

Chiton Pullover in Manos Serena Yarn
I thought that you might like to see a pullover that I recently finished. The pattern is the Chiton Pullover which was featured in the Knitscene Spring 2011 issue. It’s been a popular pattern on Ravelry.
It’s knit with Manos Serena yarn – a yarn that we got in stock at the same time the magazine was published, so it was the perfect opportunity to try out the yarn for myself. It’s a mixture of Pima Cotton and Baby Alpaca and feels really nice to both knit with and to wear.

Customer Projects: Oven Gloves
Here are some oven gloves made by my Mum with some canvas fabric from Sweetwater’s Pure collection. She used her existing oven gloves to get the right shape and size. The wadding used was some special heat-proof wadding.

Debbie Bliss Andes Cardigan
I thought that you might like to see the cardigan that my Mum knitted in Debbie Bliss Andes yarn. It’s a mixture of 65% Baby Alpaca and 35% Mulberry Silk.
It feels AMAZING! The yarn is truly gorgeous. It is mostly done in moss stitch with a garter stitch edging. This particular shade is Duck Egg 11 and it goes perfectly with a dress that I have
You can find this and other lovely patterns in the Andes pattern book. Do take a look.

Customer FO: Can Can and Pompon Scarves
Here are two scarves knitted by one of our local customers. She dropped by so we could take a photo of them.
The first is knitted with Can Can yarn in shade Aqua (which is out of stock until January!)

This one is knitted with Pompon in shade 4 Berry and is really warm and snuggly.

Customer FO: baby blanket
I really like to see what our customers are working on and Pauline recently emailed me a photo of her knitting this pretty blanket for her granddaughter. It’s a Zoe Mellor pattern, knitted in Sublime Extra Fine Merino 4 ply.

I’d love to hear from anyone else about what your knitting or sewing.

Plum Fun Bag
This week I had an email from a customer with photos of a lovely little bag she’d knitted with Rico Creative Poems Aran and then felted in the washing machine. I thought you might like to see it. The pattern is the Entrelac Envelope Bag by Anne Carroll Gilmour, which you can buy to download on Ravelry.

An idea for Moda Pure Canvas Fabric
I wanted to show you this apron that my Mum whipped up using some canvas fabric from Moda’s Pure collection which we’ve just got in the shop.
From a metre of the brown canvas fabric and quarter of a metre of the cream canvas fabric she has made both the apron and a pair of oven gloves. The apron was made really quickly. She used her existing apron to cut out the correct shape and size, hemmed the edges, and added a pocket. The strap and ties were also made from the cream fabric.
It looked so easy, that I’m going to try it myself and make a blue one
